Fitness Goal Mondays 01/30/17

Hey curvies!!!

I am super excited to bring you all an ongoing series, Fitness Goal Mondays. Here is the place where I will document my goals for the week and how I did the previous week.

I didn't want to write this post because I felt like I didn't accomplish any of my fitness goals set for last week, but instead I chose to use today to encourage myself and others to keep pushing forward.

I honestly stayed up last week watching the New Edition story and when my alarm clock went off at 4:00 am the following morning I continued to sleep. I understand that working out eases my mind but I need my sleep as well. I got a couple more hours of sleep but I was still tired at work, bummer!

So this week my goals are to get more sleep and make it to the gym at least 4 times this week. I made it this morning this morning, yay!!! Have a great week!

How to Wear Black: The Sneakers

Hey curvies!!!

I am happy to start my new series, "How to Wear Black." I love wearing all black and luckily I have four different outfits to share with you all.

Third up is the sneaker. I can honestly say that I am not a sneaker girl, but my love for platforms supersedes that and these sneakers are awesome!!! When I saw the gold toe I couldn't believe it and knew I had to wear my camo jacket. I literally have a closet full of bodycons, so I chose this bodycon to give this outfit a sporty chic look. I hope I pulled it off.

Style Notes: These sneakers are super comfy and are true to size and I am wearing a size 10. I am wearing this camo jacket in a 2x, the one I am wearing is sold out so I have linked a similar with a great price. With this bodycon I sized up to a 2x, because I was unsure about the sizing, it is now sold out so I am linking one for only $19.

How To Daycation In St. Louis

Hey curvies!!!

I do not have a Fitness Goals Monday post because I fell and hurt myself last Monday. But I do have a super cool travel post.

This Saturday my mom, sister, brother, and I decided to take a day trip to St. Louis. You guys my family literally had this trip planned out, all I had to do was get in the car (the front seat) and chill. I know daycation's are not ideal for some, but when you have a family like mine it's awesome.

So here are my tips for 'How to Daycation in St. Louis':

  • Bring comfy sneakers
    • To get the most out of your daycation you need to be on foot, sightsee, and being in sneakers are cool especially if you style them your outfit.
  • Have the places where you want to eat in mind
    • This is soooo important to me, I love trying local food and it helps that I have grown to love Miss Robbie and her family, so Sweetie Pies was a must for lunch. My brother insisted that we have Imo's Pizza so we stopped there before leaving Sunday to take it home.
  • Sightsee
    • This is a must even with a daycation. The thing is to keep the list of places short, you don't have a lot of time. So our list consisted of the Gateway Arch (the St. Louis Arch) and Busch Stadium, you guys that is where the St. Louis Cardinals play!!! We also went to the Lumiere Place Casino Saturday night.
Trip Notes: We stayed at the Hampton Inn St. Louis-Downtown (At the Gateway Arch). The Arch is under construction so we could not take a ride. We visted the Sweetie Pie's Upper Crust location. My outfit was super simple top ~ here, leggings ~ here, cardigan ~ here, shoes ~ here.

How to Wear Black: The Turtleneck

Hey curvies!!!

I am happy to start my new series, "How to Wear Black." I love wearing all black and luckily I have four different outfits to share with you all.

Second up is the turtleneck. I love a good turtleneck and this one has never let me down. Turtlenecks are fabulous with skirts and super cool paired with jeans. In this look I brought out a year old satin maxi and hit the deck in the snow. I completed this look with one of my favorite necklaces and my knee high boots.

Style Notes: My turtleneck is a size large and fits comfortable in my skirt. My skirt is a 4x because that was the only size available at the time. My boots are wide calf approved and I linked a similar pair in more sizes.

Fitness Goal Mondays 01/16/17

Hey curvies!!!

I am super excited to bring you all Fitness Goal Mondays. Here is the place where I will document my goals for the week and how I did the previous week.

My goal was to workout 4 times last week and I did 3. I was kinda bummed out at myself but then I quickly realized that I had worked over 18 hours of overtime and I was simply tired. On the up feel good!!! Like really good and like sleeping better at night good.

Going back to the gym last week felt like I was home. Most days I was so early I ended up being the first person to arrive. Nothing wrong with that! I worked out this morning and added a picture from today!

How To Wear Black: The Bodycon

Hey curvies!!!

I am happy to start my new series, "How to Wear Black." I love wearing all black and luckily I have four different outfits to share with you all.

First up is the bodycon. I love me a good bodycon and the lace up detail on the sides set this one apart. This bodycon is knee length so it was only right to add my new knee high slouch boots. These boots are everything and the heel with the platform make for easy strutting. I added my simple necklace and grey moto jacket to complete this look.

Style Notes: This dress is true to size in a size 2. The boots are slightly big because my 10 wasn't available and I ordered a 10.5. My jacket could've been bigger but it was on sale, I'm wearing an XL.

Fitness Goal Mondays 01/09/17

Hey curvies!!!

I am super excited to bring you all Fitness Goal Mondays. Here is the place where I will document my goals for the week. Please understand that working out eases my mind and has become therapeutic for me, but looking better in my clothes and treating my body good is a plus.

This week my focus is getting back to the gym. I completely understand that waiting until Monday is not ideal, but I literally was enjoying my day off from work last Monday and the gym was not on my radar. I actually worked out this morning and I feel great! Take a look below at my essentials for working out:

  • Sauna Jacket (similar)
    • I love my sauna jacket because it helps to rid my body of excess water. I actually retain water and this is perfect for me.
  • Wicking Leggings (here)
    • I love wicking leggings, because it actually helps your leggings dry while working out and if you're like me I have to pack everything up and get ready for work at the gym so my leggings are dry and ready to be washed when I get home in the evening.
  • Polar FT7 (here)
    • I love my my polar!!! I actually love to focus on keeping my heart rate up while working out and knowing how many calories I burn. It's kind of like a pat on the back after a really good workout. See today's workout results below!
  • BCAA (here)
    • I love water and a way to get more water in a day is by adding my favorite BCAA (Branched Chain Amino Acids) powder to my water before a workout. I workout in the mornings around 5:00 am and the BCAA helps wake me up.

Bossing Up In 2017

Hey curvies!!!!

I wanted to start my year off right by planning more and bossing up. I completely understand that you can not learn everything from a book, but I intend to learn as much as I possibly can from these three amazing women. The start of 2017 has been different for me and I love it. I usually write my goals down and keep it moving. This year I want to be intentional with everything I do.

My planner is awesome!!! I had countless planners that were super easy for me to tuck in my purse and I literally did not use them last year. I found myself jotting down my thoughts on pieces of paper and forgetting to add them to my planners. This year I decided to get a planner that is like me big and beautiful. I have been keeping this planner near since before the start of year and I am in planner heaven. A cool feature are the folders inside, which is wear I am storing my school notes at the moment.

Now for the reasons behind my book choices:

My Top 3 Goals For 2017

Hey Curvies!!!!

2016 was literally the year of consistency for me. At least the year for attempting consistency. I learned that when I was consistent with working out I wasn't consistent with blogging. All of those things were tied to me being focused in school and working a full-time job.

Here's how I will set realistic goals for 2017:

  1. Be short and straight to the point when setting goals. Instead of wallowing over extensive details, I will keep it short. My goal is share more of myself with all.
  2. Become a better me. It's easy to tell someone what they did wrong to you and help them work on themselves, but in 2017 I want to work on myself.
  3. Commit to things and stick to them. Again, I find it hard for me to stay consistent with all of the things on my plate, so working out will be some I commit to, because working out eases my mind.

Also, I'm telling you all my goals because I need to be held accountable. I'm thinking about a Fitness Goal Monday series where I talk about my goals for the week and how I did the week before.
