Denim Showers: Dashikis & Denim

Hey curvies!!!!

This is the first installment of the April series "Denim Showers." This series will include ways to incorporate denim into your wardrobe for any style preference and budget.

Let me introduce you all to my brother Steve, the dashiki king, because he has a ton of dashikis and they are so cool. My brother gifted me one similar to his and I told him to join me on this post. It was funny yet overwhelming because my whole family came out to see us take pictures.

I used items from my closet to complete this outfit. I've worn these jeans on my blog before and I am still in love with them. The dashiki is very colorful, but I wanted to add a pop of neon with my sandals. The headpiece added a special touch that completed my outfit.

Style Note: My brother and I are wearing the same size in the dashikis, because they are one size fits most.

Bee Takes On Pantone: Limpet Shell

Hey curvies!!!!

This is the third and final installment of the March series "Bee Takes On Pantone." This series included some colors from the Pantone Fashion Color Report Spring for 2016.

This outfit is probably my favorite from this series! I love a good bodycon, but sometimes I like to cover up my booty (sometimes!). So with this look I did just that, by wearing this "unofficial" cardigan. This cardigan is actually modeled as a swim cover up on the site, but when I laid eyes on it I knew it would be perfect with a bodycon. I finished this look by adding a really cute headpiece and lace up sandals.

Style Notes: With the cardigan I sized up to a 3x, luckily I did because the fit was perfect especially in the arms. The dress is a size 2x and is true to size. The sandals are a size 10 and true to size.

5 Shapewear Essentials

Hey Curvies!!!!

This post is long overdue. I literally thought to myself, "you can tell everyone what you're wearing but you don't tell people what is underneath." I guess I told myself off! Some of the shapewears below you may have heard of, but this post is different because these 5 shapewear essentials are also seasonally based. What I wear under a dress in the Summer time may not be the same garment I wear in the Winter.

Tights

Tights are a girls bestfriend AND control tights are the absolute best thing in the WORLD! These located here are seriously my new favs. These go on without a hitch and last a very long time. I love to wear tights in the cold months, because I get to give my shapewear a break.

Spanx (Thigh Length)

Spanx are located here I know, I know you are probably tired of hearing about how great a good pair Spanx are, but I can not deny the fact they are awesome lightweight shapewear. I usually wear Spanx with jumpsuits because it smooths everything out. Spanx are perfect for the Spring and Summer time because they are light and airy.

Spanx (Panty)

These are located here and are perfect year round!!! I wear the panty spanx under work slacks, tights that are not control tops, jumpsuits, and leggings. Occasionally wear my panty spanx with too short dresses because my thigh length shapewear is too long (see above picture) to control my stomach and booty.

Wal-Mart Shapewear

These are located here and have to be the best kept secret in AFFORDABLE shapewear. Only $13!!! I absolutely positively love these because they make bodycon dresses worth while! The boning in the back helps them stay up and the gripping in the leg area prevents them from rolling up. Now I highly recommend these for the Fall and Winter, because they do not have ventilation.

Lane Bryant Shapewear

These located here are perfect with flowy maxi dresses and skirts. These are super light but controls the giggle and restricts inner thigh rubbing. Now these are not heavy duty so don't count on them sucking everything in, because they are light weight.

Bee Takes On Pantone: Iced Coffee

Hey curvies!!!!

This is the second installment of the March series "Bee Takes On Pantone." This series will include some colors from the Pantone Fashion Color Report Spring for 2016.

I have been wanting a cute brown sling for the longest. Somehow I would talk myself out of it before even buying it. Not this time! I think the tassel on the side had me sold! I decided to build around this amazing sling.

This outfit was easy after I found the dress in the same store I found the sling. I completed the outfit with my favorite denim jacket and leopard sandals.

Style Notes: This dress is a size XXL and if an XL was in the store that would have probably fit better, especially in the waist. Also, I am 5'6" and this dress is midi length on me but on the site it looks like a mini dress. The jacket is a size 1 and the sandals are a size 10.

The Return Of The Cheetah

Hello everyone!

This is the third look for Kareem of Big Bella Donna and I's collaboration for the ENTIRE month of February, "Colors of Love."

I am one of those people who is still in love with peplum anything. Literally! So it was only right that I wear my super cute peplum dress for this post. This dress is super comfy and hug my curves like nothing else. The bright vibrant color was everything in the early morning sunshine!

I decided to pull out my old cheetah print faux fur jacket. I am really not sure why I haven't brought it out sooner, but it was the perfect coat to turn this look up. Oh, and it wouldn't be winter without knee high boots. I got the boots for steal!!!

Style Notes: This dress is true to size and I am wearing a 2x. I sized up in the jacket because of the lining, I am wearing a size 2. These boots are wide calf friendly and I sized down to a 9.

Holiday Lookbook featuring SWAK Designs: Part 1

Hello everyone!!!

I am excited to bring you all a holiday lookbook featuring two looks from SWAK Designs and one look on the way!

I was excited that SWAK Designs reached out to me to style a couple of new arrivals! SWAK Designs "offers contemporary plus size fashion for women in sizes 14 - 36. From maxi dresses and leggings, to cardigans and camisoles," SWAK Designs believes that there clothing is "the perfect blend of trend and classic design." Then I immediately remembered how fun it was to create holiday inspired looks last year and decided to create a lookbook this year.

I could not wait to get my hands on the Joyce Dress because of the bold navy and white stripes. This dress could easily be dressed up or down and I decided to style it for a casual family gathering look. This dress has bold stripes and I knew that a plaid shirt would go perfect with it as well as some low heel laceup booties. I think it turned out well!

Review: The fabric is lightweight and the length is fine, but a little short in the back thankfully I am wearing tights. I am wearing a size 1x.

Style Note: When shopping with SWAK Designs be sure to shop by your waist measurement. There clothes are very generous in the hips.

Next up is this amazing Eternity Convertible Multi Print Maxi Dress. I quickly grew fond of the effortless possibilities that one item could create after I first featured an Eternity dress during my "Maxi Love" series from August. This dress is a head turner and the fact that it is in this seasonable brown print is perfect. This look was created for a Friend's Social Event. I wanted to focus on the dress and added a wine colored cardigan and booties to complete the look. I would like to add that I learned how to tie this dress with a video, yes a video, it was extremely helpful especially since my boyfriend assisted in the tying.

Review: This fabric is heavy. Heavy like I had to use a wooden hanger to hold it. I really love the versatility of this dress as I did the first time I tried an eternity style dress from SWAK Designs. The color is vibrant and perfect for the fall and winter.

Style Note: I am wearing a size 1x-3x as this dress comes in only two sizes 1x-3x and 4x-6x. Also, I am wearing a convertible bra with this dress, link below.

Tulle & Plaid

Hello everyone!!!

This is the final look Pepper of Pretty Plus Pep and I's collaboration for the ENTIRE month of November,
"Bee and Pep Does Plaid."

I bought this tulle skirt right after my last tulle post, because I loved it! Initially I was going to pair my tulle skirt with a plaid shirt, but then I found this awesome jacket. I fell in love with this jacket from the moment I laid eyes on it. I knew I had to have it regardless of the outfit. I completed this look with my favorite low booties, statement necklace, and custom bracelets.

Style Notes: I had to size up with this jacket because the lining is weird and ended up ordering a size 2. I sized up in this tulle skirt and caused that skirt to have gaps in the waist. Please order your true size. These bracelets are amazing! I literally sent her my outfit and she created these bracelets in no time! I really love them!!!

Graphic Tees and Plaid Skirts

Hello everyone!!!

This is the third look Pepper of Pretty Plus Pep and I's collaboration for the ENTIRE month of November,"Bee and Pep Does Plaid."

I was super excited for Pepper when she released her own graphic tee line. The shirts are so cute and girly! When I ordered my shirt I knew I had to incorporate it somehow into an outfit and what better way to rock a graphic tee than with a plaid skirt! The were made for each other and my outfit looks casual yet cute! This look is super easy to pull off all you need is a graphic tee and any skirt. To complete the look I simply added my denim jacket, a necklace, black booties, and my glasses of course! I wear glasses on a day to day basis and they were the perfect accessory to complete this look.

Style Note: I ordered an XL in the graphic tee, because I knew I would wear this shirt with skirts, but will definitely order an XXL to wear with jeans. The skirt is also true size, for some reason I thought that material would fit differently than other Eloquii skirts and sized. up Sizing up only created a gap in the waist. This skirt is short in the back.
