Straight Stripes

Hi everyone!

This is the eighth installment of the August/September series "Black & White is the New Black."

While I was in Houston, back in July, I was able to stop by their outlet mall and it was awesome! I personally have never even thought to stop in Loft, but after seeing one of favorite bloggers shop there I had to give it a try. Please note:  I do not restrict myself to any "section" when shopping, I go into stores that do not carry plus size and walk out with gems. Mainly, because I pay close attention to the fabric content.

The dress I am wearing looked flowy so I picked up an Extra-Large and bought it. When I made it back to the hotel room and tried it on it fit perfect. I love it!

Concert Attire: K. Michelle

I am excited to see K. Michelle perform live here in Memphis. Not to mention the front row seats are icing on the cake.

I ordered this dress a few months ago and waited for the perfect time to wear it. I have a thing for floral prints and the black sides accentuates my curves with great stretch.

Red, White, & Black

Hi everyone!

This is the seventh installment of the August/September series "Black & White is the New Black."

I have a thing for black and white. I can wear it year round. If you're wondering how my black and white posts came about, I was actually having withdraws and in June I decided all.August/September posts would incorporate black and white in some capacity.

Back in May I purchased a lace corset top and decided to pair it with a midi skirt (one of my favorites). I added a pop of color with my red heels and completing the look with a statement necklace.

When Wearing White...

Hi everyone!

This is the sixth installment of the August series "Black & White is the New Black."

When wearing white there are numerous factors to consider. Is the material too thin? What if it's clingy? Can you see my shapewear? The list goes on and on until we talk ourselves out of it. For this jumpsuit the answers to those doubtful questions are absolutely no!

Before trying this jumpsuit on I could tell the material was thick by simply holding the item. I tried the jumpsuit on it seemed like it was double layered and I loved it!

The jumpsuit is very white, so I chose to wear a gold and black necklace. The booties with gold accents were a nice touch, luckily I remembered I had them. Finishing off the look is a large tote style handbag, which is right on trend for Fall.

Lace To The Maxi

Hi everyone!

This is the fifth installment of the August/September series "Black & White is the New.

This outfit is a perfect combination of sexy and comfortable, two of my favorite things! The lace top was actually scored for only $5! I immediately knew I was going to pair it with a maxi skirt and what better color than white. This outfit has been sitting in my closet waiting to come out and I am excited to share it with you all!

The top is a size large and is not too tight. My maxi skirt has a great fit, the fabric flows wonderfully, and it is a fabulously 48 inches long.

Shirred Not Shaken

Hi everyone!

This is the fourth installment of the theme "Black & White is the New Black."

I immediately fell in love with this envelope style dress, but like most plus size styles I wondered, "would this look the same on me?" Answer, heck yeah! The fabric is phenomenally thick and will definitely be a transitional piece. The shirring on the dress starts under the bust and continues through the waist helping to accentuate my curves. The dress is true to size and figure flattering.

I added a white military style jacket that is also transitional as well as a pair of wedge buckle sandals that are surprisingly comfortable.
